Migration and the Right to Health

The conference will seek to address these issues by bringing together academics, policy makers and practitioners working within the areas of human rights, health and development to consider what the different disciplines can offer one another to rethink some of these pressing concerns. Speakers will address a series of questions including :
  • To what extent are migrants in different contexts able to access their rights and entitlements in relation to health and health care services?
  • What health seeking strategies do they employ?
  • What voice do migrants have in debates around health care?
  • How are these processes gendered?
  • What effective policy initiatives exist between countries of origin and host countries that can contribute to securing migrant’s right to health?
